A Notice about copyright and use of this game and site
The game Dixles and its related mechanics is a project started in January 2026 by me, Vaikus. Please do not take my work or redistribute parts of it. The artwork is mostly comissioned, with a few pieces done by me. Please do not steal the artwork - the artists who I am working with put a lot of work into making art for this game, and any use of this art should be directly credited to them. DO NOT remove any credits in their art! Anyone is welcome to play this game, but should contact me at playdixlesgame@gmail.com for any other use of the contents of this site. I would also appreciate players letting me know if they are playing, and would love to hear any feedback! This game is still a work in progress, so some mechanics may not work as well as I'd hope. Please let me know if you have any issues playing or if any part of this site does not work! The coding was modified from various youtube tutorials and CSS/HTML resource guides, the background images and graphics are from public use sites, and this site is hosted on Neocites. I would be happy to point you towards the resources I've used, but please do not copy my design! - I do not intend to claim authorship or ownership of anything not owned by me! Please let me know if you see any of your designs on this site not credited properly or that should not be used publicly and I will change/update those elements as quickly as possible! -I am currently working on compiling a page pointing to all of the resources I have used, and will link it here when I am able! - Dixles Game © "Vaikus" 2026 -
Hello everyone!

I'm Vaikus and I am working on making a game! While it is still in the very early stages I would love to share it with you!

Dixles is a self-driven adventuring game where the goal is to level up your character enough to evolve them into the mythical version of themself. The game uses a combination of “journaling” and web resources - I am working on a website with random encounter generators and other resources, but I am not a coder. I hope to create a way to play the game fully in the browser, but as it stands the website is a companion to a more TTRP type of game. It is recommended to track your own progress and inventory using notes on paper or online, and I am in the process of creating templates to help with this. I am looking for playtesters and feedback for all aspects of the game, please let me know if you are interested in playing!

This game is set in the land of Torana, where four races prevail. The species you can choose from are the Ardus (Birds), Felus (Cats), Squamus (Snakes and Lizards) and Canus (foxes). The goal of the game is to explore to gain experience in order to level up your character and allow it to evolve into the Mythic version of itself - these are the Phoenix, the Yokai (Bakeneko and Nekomata), the Dragon and the Kitsune.

The Felus were wise cats with a knack for leadership. The Canus were witty foxes, masters of cartography and wayfinding. The Ardus were master artisans, and craft the greatest weapons and gear in the realm. The Squamus were apothecarists, and prepared most of the tinctures and potions for the realm. All creatures used to work together to better their community, but now the people are divided. The artisans have turned to menial labor, the communities have fragmented, and the dreams of adventure have all but vanished. You alone wish to journey across Torana and learn of the past. You want to find out what happened to the mythics - great beasts whose wisdom and experience allowed them to evolve into something more.

Stories of Torana’s past tell of a rich culture of expression and adventure. The land was full of creative souls who longed for exploration and innovation. This society was championed by the Mythics, an evolved group of powerful explorers who led the way through new lands and new discoveries. There was a time when all dreamed of one day expanding one’s own power and wisdom beyond the mundane to reach mythic status and join the elite adventurers guild alongside the great beasts of legend. This is not that time.

The citizens of Torana have now turned away from seeking out the unknown and the community has pulled apart into a fractured dystopia. Some blame Ergo, the power hungry Nekomata, who delighted in severing bonds and squashing ambition. Ergo rose to power and did all they could to keep it for themselves, and discouraged all forms of creativity. Some say that the fall of the once great society was inevitable, and that Ergo was one of many who would have seen its demise. No one dreams of adventure anymore - they simply move throughout their days doing whatever menial tasks needed to get through. That is not you.

You grew up hearing tales of great beasts and exotic lands. Your grandparents held on to a time before all of this mundanity, and shared the hope for a brighter future with you. They encouraged you to make your own path, to find your own way and to evolve into something greater. You have decided that now is the time to begin your journey.
